Food movement pioneer Joel Salatin's business card reads: 'Food Choice Advocate, Dream Doer.' Salatin was featured in Michael Pollan's Omnivore's Dilemma and is a now a popular speaker across the country, inspiring thousands with his humorous and conviction-based lectures. He has written nine books and the most recent, Folks, This Ain't Normal, conveys the gravity of the ecological and cultural crisis our country is facing. Join us for a light tasting of local food, lecture and book signing with Salatin, and see how you can "re-find your responsibilities to this Earth we call our nest."

Dan Imhoff, author of Food Fight (Second Edition) and Ken Cook, Executive Director of the Environmental Working Group, present a revealing picture of how the 2012 Farm Bill – also deemed the Food Bill – will impact local food security, public health, and the ecological and economic sustainability of our regional food system. Their talk will explore how the 2012 Farm Bill could help cultivate a more vibrant, sustainable and equitable food system, and how every one of us can contribute to shaping the outcome of this critical federal legislation.

Dominican University of California Net Impact Chapter, a group of MBA students using the power of business to build a more socially and environmentally sustainable world, will host a discussion with Spencer Sherman, bestselling author and CEO of Abacus Wealth Partners, on Tuesday, March 6.
